With stress growing in these turbulent times many people will be suffering anxiety and possibly experiencing anxiety attack symptoms. Everyone will react differently so it helpful to be aware of the various common symptoms and to know that you are not alone.

The main anxiety attack symptom is one of extreme fear and during an attack it is common to feel as though you are having a heart attack because of chest pain.  Many sufferers end up in the emergency room of the hospital convinced that they are in fact having a heart attack.

Other symptoms may include:
    Light headedness or dizziness.
    Sweating or trembling.
    Hot flashes. 
    A fear of doing something embarrassing
    Experiencing feelings of doom.
    Numbness or tingling in the hands, feet or lips.
    Stomach upset

People are often so overwhelmed when an anxiety attack occurs that they forget to breathe properly as a result they tend to hyperventilate which means that breathing becomes fast and shallow.  It is important to learn correct breathing techniques and breathe slowly and deeply.

While frightening anxiety attack symptoms are not life threatening and can be successfully treated without medications.
